Played active role in organising agricultural workers in Chittur Was a Congress activist until 1969.
Joined Janata Dal in 1976.
Was elected to KLA in : 1982, 1992
Was member of Palakkad Jilla panchayat between 2000-2005. Founded Chittur Bhoopanaya bank
and was its first President.

(2) President, Perumatti Co-operative Bank, since 1967.
