Started Political activity while a student in 1967; an admirer of Socialist Principles actively participated in many students struggles; Became a member of the Janatha Party. When the socialist wings merged together and formed Janatha Party; was Secretary, Kannur District Yuva Janatha Committee in 1982; was Member, Kannur District Sports Council and the State Volley Ball Association; was President, State Fencing Association, elected to Kunnothaparamba Gram Panchayat in 1988.

Became Janatha Dal Member, when the Janatha Party became Janatha Dal; Now President, Janatha Dal Peringalam Constituency Committee; Member, Janatha Dal State Parliamentary Board; Member, Janatha Dal State Executive Committee, Member, Janatha Dal National Council, Chief Editor 'Padayani' Evening Daily.
